Life-Pregnancy-3      Cardboard, Chine colle, Sponge      60 x 150 cm      2007

The overall atmosphere of this work simulates the universe giving birth to all things. The circle symbolizes pregnancy, and the embryo inside represents new life.
One black and one white is the way, and all things carry yin to embrace yang, creating mutual growth and mutual restraint.

This is an attempt to describe how Taoists give birth to one, one gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things...

The beauty of ancient eaves tiles attracts me greatly.
These four spiritual beasts were made based on the original rubbings from the Han Dynasty, each with its respective symbolism and implications.
They protect the family in four directions: the Dragon in the East, the Rosefinch in the South, the White Tiger in the West, and the Black Tortoise guarding the North.
